On the saxophone, Monika Muc. Known for her work with the Monia Muc Quintet (her own band) and collabs with Błażej Krój, Flary, and Ciśnienie. On the double bass, Kamila Drabek. Founder of Tercet Kamilii Drabek, nominated in 2020 for the Fryderyk Award for Best Jazz Debut. On the piano, Kateryna Ziabliuk. She also performs with the Ukrainian band Hilarious Disasters. On drums, Patrycja Wybrańczyk. Known for her work with Ninja Episkopat and PESH. Together, they’re O.N.E., and they’re breathing new life into the Polish jazz scene. When they debuted in 2019 with the album ONE, the magazine Jazz Forum called their music mature, uncompromising, mythbusting, and genre bending. The reviews following their followup Entolomy were no less enthusiastic (“It’s a hugely impressive album, plain and simple,” raved JazzPress), as was the response to their third LP, Well, actually…, released on Denmark’s April Records (“Proof that the Polish jazz scene has something relevant to say in an international context,” writes JazzSoul). What else is there to add? Only that you’ll catch them live at the mBank OFF Jazz Club in Katowice.
