Hoshii

Hoshii’s name might be Japanese (it means “to desire”), but the artist hails from the planet Versus, several galaxies away from Earth. Setting out in search of adventure, Hoshii reached our planet, only to be rejected at first, but that’s changing now. Bandleader, saxophonist and producer Kuba Więcek joins us to tell the tale of Hoshii’s encounters with humans. American magazine Downbeat calls Więcek — best known here in Poland for his collaborations with rappers — a musician who could shape the future sound of jazz. Maybe that future is now.
