Głupi Komputer
A funny name (“Dumb Computer”) for a totally serious musical concept, though not devoid of humor, and an example of a Polish jazz act that cares more about playing around with form and content than clinging to the genre’s high-brow accoutrements. At times, the band veers close to Aphex Twin, ATC, and even Eiffel 65, traces of which Głupi Komputer’s members have pointed out in their own music. Daniel Karpiński previously performed with Mikrobi.t, Snowman, and Armia. Michał Fetler has been involved with acts like Polmuz and Jazz Band Młynarski-Masecki. Jakub Królikowski was a member of Organic Techno. When they come together, they challenge traditional norms and improvise more and more, they say, with every concert they play. Jazz is the foundation, but rebellion and non-conformism is their guiding light.
