They don’t really think of themselves as jazz musicians, but put them on a stage or in a studio, and they’ll belt out the most mindblowing jazz of the year. They debuted with the powerful Śmierć w miękkim futerku, which reviewers hailed as more than just a mere revelation, likening it to a SWAT team bursting through the door. After their followup, the self-titled Niechęć, the Warsaw band’s music drew comparisons to an addictive, hypnotic drug. That high’s still there on the rest of their catalog, including their live performances, which the band (lucky for us) has decided to record and release. On the latest, 2025, Niechęć proves once again that it’s a multi-headed beast on stage. You can’t run, but you can enjoy the pleasure of being devoured whole by the improvised jazz and rock’n’roll fury, the cinematic lyricism, and the psychedelic, trance-inducing sound. It’s genre-bending contemporary music that’ll have you by the throat, live at the OFF Festival.
