Bedroom pop that combines seriousness and levity – or experiments and fables. The latter is the title of ania grr and paszka’s EP, Bajki. ania grr previously performed with the punk-rock outfit Szklane oczy; paszka was more of an electronic music guy. They hail from two contrasting musical worlds, but it turned out their personalities weren’t all that different. Both are incredibly eager to try new things at the intersection of the infantile and the serious. Using an experimental/childlike/dream-pop aesthetic, the two write songs for adults, hoping to imbue them with hope and light. “We have a lot of songs that touch upon the most beautiful moments in life, and we want our music to have a good impact on people,” they said following their set at the 2024 Great September Festival. Now let’s see how they fare at the OFF Festival.
