Leo Ros

There’s no way Leo Ros, born in 1999, remembers anything from the ‘90s. But he loves the decade. He listens to music on cassette and watches movies on VHS. His album Anemoia, recorded with F.U.S., is a musical expression of longing for an era that the two describe as enormously atmospheric and authentic. Inspired by b-boys, skateboards, apartment towers, and the courtyard benches that served as teenage hangouts in the ‘90s, the record visualizes the time of early hip-hop crews, VHS films, and music blasted from boomboxes. As a solo act, Leo Ros also draws on classic hip-hop sounds, and lists early Three Six Mafia, Skinny Pimp, and Kaliber 44 among his inspirations, while keeping up to date with trap contexts. He’s coming to the OFF Festival hot on the heels of Nie ma CD. Get on the trap!
