Could he be Poland’s answer to James Blake? IGNACY dismisses the comparison as exaggerated and oversimplified. Hailed the revelation of the 2022 Great September Festival, his set immediately filled the venue to capacity. The track “Czekam na znak” charted soon after and has since gone double platinum. His first record, Central Park, featured more radio-friendly songs, but his sophomore effort surprised fans with its dark, experimental turn. He bought a keyboard, caught up on Portishead and Massive Attack, and – most importantly – followed his intuition. The result was Limbo, a project reviewers have lauded as equal parts mad and ingenious. “I’m trying to avoid getting bored in the studio,” is how IGNACY has explained his latest artistic moves in interviews. And “bored” is one thing we definitely won’t be at the OFF Festival!
