Rajan Silva’s father immigrated to Australia from India in the 1970s. His record collection contained albums by the greatest stars of the old country and new discoveries made in his adopted homeland: from the Beatles to B.B. King. Glass Beams contains clear echoes of the entire spectrum of childhood influences absorbed by the trio’s frontman as he studied his father’s music library: the East and West, the old and the new, catchy hooks and trippy melodies.
