Ania Szlagowska

“I show strangers my white teeth; I bare my fangs at my loved ones,” sings Ania Szlagowska. In another song, she admits to having dreams about the actor Timothée Chalamet for a third night in a row, and giving Kuba Karaś (The Dumplings, Karaś & Rogucki) the “silent treatment.” She was just gearing up to release her debut LP when she performed at the Great September Festival last year. Today, she has the album Pierwsza płyta under her belt, along with a nationwide tour and a Fryderyk music prize nomination for her sweet-and-sour blend of pop, r’n’b, jazz, and Highlander charisma.
